Today's the Day
Today's the day I want to start writing. I don't know why, I just drank a lot of coffee and got a random urge to write about things. I am living with my grandmother in Alabama right now, its nice and quiet here. Today I spend some time outside weed whacking in the Alabama heat. Also, my grandmother and I fixed her 700$ Capresso coffee maker. I wonder why people buy things that they aren't going to use. I bought a DSLR camera that I don't use anymore. I spent a month or two saving up to buy it, and now it turns out I don't even use it. The lost potential even with just that camera is quite surprising to me. Sometimes I feel like I'm "over" doing potential destroying things like that, but really I'm not. I should probably be wiser about what I choose to buy. I wish I would have chosen to buy some quality headphones or something else useful that is related to music. The reason is, I am obviously not doing photography much, and I hope to make music a career. I guess back then I had no idea I'd be getting so involved with music. Now I'm making my career's work on 30$ headphones, and it isn't all that easy. I will go back to school eventually because I enjoy learning, but for now I want to focus on music because I know I can make a career out of it and I love it. I'm glad I fixed the coffee maker with my grandmother today because now I can instantly have a very good cup of coffee by just pressing one button. My grandmother means a lot to me and I'm also glad I got to spend the quality time of enjoying a nice cup of coffee with her today. She told me that back when she was young, with Ray, in Germany, they would go to the cafes and get coffee with a bit of crema on top. Ever since then, she had be asking around for a coffee maker that had that same crema and would bring back fond memories of being young, newlywed in Germany. Eventually she was walking in downtown Black Mountain many many years later with my younger sister, and they ordered coffee at a newly opened fudge shop. Turns out, the coffee had the crema just like they had back in Germany, so she ordered one of those same coffee makers when she got back home in Alabama. Its a nice story, I always love hearing stories from older folks. Its like a little window into their lives, things happen to them that couldn't have happened to me yet. It encouraged me to start writing this. Thats all for now!
